These diets should be stored in the freezer immediately upon receipt and can be kept there for up to 12 months. To prepare for feeding, the food should be thawed in a refrigerator for up to 24 hours prior to serving. Please note that we do not recommend any other thawing methods for this product. After opening, any unused portion should be stored in a sealed container in the refrigerator and consumed within 5 days.

be fed as a complete main meal, mixed-fed with kibble or canned food, or served as a topper. Because individual needs of pets vary, any

mixed feeding recommendations will be at your veterinarian’s discretion.

Please follow these precise, safety-first steps when unpacking your delivery:

1. Open with Care: Carefully open the outer shipping box. Avoid using deep blades that could puncture the insulated liner or the individual fresh frozen meal pouches inside.

2. Inspect the Insulated Liner: Gently lift the top flap of the thermal liner to inspect your shipment.

3. Handle Remaining Dry Ice Safely: Our formulas are sometimes packed with dry ice to maintain the cold chain during transit.

If any solid dry ice remains in the box:

– Never touch dry ice with bare hands, as direct contact can cause severe skin burns.

– After removing the product from the shipping box, leave the dry ice inside the shipping box and place it in a well-ventilated outdoor or drafty indoor area, strictly out of reach of children and pets, until it sublimates (disappears) completely.

4. Transfer Product to the Freezer Immediately for Storing: To preserve the nutritional integrity and freshness of the veterinary diet:

– Place the meals directly into your freezer.

– Transfer 1 to 2 meals into your refrigerator to begin thawing safely for 24 hours before serving.

Once the diet has thawed in the refrigerator (at 35-37°F for at least 24 hours), we recommend warming the sealed package in a 3-quart bowl of 120°F water for 10 minutes prior to serving. Never use a microwave to thaw or warm fresh pet diets. In addition to creating uneven “hot spots” that can severely burn a pet’s mouth, microwaving can result in nutrient degradation. Plus, because high-quality, nutritionally complete diets contain concentrated levels of essential minerals, microwaving can sometimes result in sparking.

We recommend at least a 7-day transition.

• Days 1 & 2: Begin with 25% new/75% old

• Days 3 & 4: Move to 50% new/50% old

• Days 5 & 6: Then 75% new /25% old

• Day 7: 100% new diet

Similar to canned food, our fresh diets have a much higher moisture content than kibble, making them an excellent option for pets needing more water in their diet or requiring a softer, easy-to-chew texture.

• Assembly & Safety: In our kitchen, ingredients are thawed, measured and packaged. The packaged food then undergoes High-Pressure Processing (HPP), a non-thermal method that uses extreme water pressure to eliminate harmful bacteria, ensuring the food is safe while preserving nutrients.

• Freezing & Shipping: After HPP, the diets are frozen and shipped. For optimal safety and freshness, you should store the food in your freezer upon arrival.
